HYDERABAD: Former provincial minister Culture, Tourism and Antiquates and candidate for the constituency of PS-51 Pithoro on Saturday said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is a democratic party which has a rich history of serving people.
Shah during an exclusive interview with Daily Times said, “I belong to pro-people and democratice peoplen which deoes not divide people on the basis of cast, color and creed.”
Shah added majority of the Non-Muslim people are in the PPP because party have owned them and assured their protection, ‘which is also a fundamental necessity of human being’.
We are trying to bring them (Non-muslims) in a mainstream, said the former miniser adding that during his tenure, the ministry launched various schemes in different segments specially to lift the suppressed people.
He said that his party would come into power with the support of people if establishement would not go against them.
He mentioned his ministry’s performance giving example of Umerkot’s Fort reconstruction and many other archeological sites which were , according to him, not only restored but “conserved and preserved”.
“There is a huge list of archeological sites in province as it has been independent sovereign state through 5000 years; evry inch of this land is a heritage,” said the former minister adding there is lot more to do for the conservation of heritage.
Whille replying to a question during the interview, Shah said he is not sure if he will be culture minister again, however, he said if he gets chance to serve than surely he will go back to those works which could not be completed during the last tenure.
